The 2018 China Flavors, Fragrances and Cosmetics Industry Annual Conference was held in Yichang, Hubei Province a few days ago. The "12th China Flavors and Fragrances High-level Forum" was held at the conference. The theme of this forum is "Opportunities and Challenges of Enterprises Going Global". Under the background of the country's vigorous promotion and implementation of the "going global" strategy, my country's flavors and fragrances enterprises have experienced years of development and precipitation, and have also ushered in the opportunity to develop overseas. Why enterprises should go global, what conditions are needed to go global, and how to go global have become important topics discussed by the guests and enterprise representatives.

Chen Shaojun, chairman of the China Flavors, Fragrances and Cosmetics Industry Association, said that in the 40 years of reform and opening up, my country's flavors and fragrances industry has achieved good development. The number of enterprises has increased from 83 in 1980 to more than 1,000 at present; the market size has expanded from 729 million yuan in 1985 to 37.06 billion yuan in 2017, an increase of 70 times. In 2017, the export trade of my country's flavors and fragrances enterprises involved more than 150 countries and regions, with an export value of US$3.935 billion and an import value of US$3.696 billion.
